First of all, you can't learn from a book. The manual (haynes) can give you some guidance. You learn by doing.

Second, swapping a 4cyl is retarded. a 6spd from an 02 CL-S (j32)would be you're best bet. You could get the whole engine and tranny from a CLS (and its a sick engine/tranny!) but like its been said...hard to come by/a little pricey.

I also wouldn't recommend just bolting on a comptech supercharger without beefing up your internals.

Easy way, just get a new auto tranny. Anything other than that will be more costly/time consuming/not for the newbie.
