I would have to agree based on my (far more limited) experience.
Tomorrow I'm gonna try putting cold water on my skin before I lather to see if that helps. I've heard rinsing the blade in cold is better than hot but doesn't really seem to make much, if any, difference to me.
Personally it's gel or nothing for me. I have sensitive skin, especially on my neck, and creams just don't cut it.
I currently use Gillette Gel, forget the name but it's the one with some kinda oil in it, and it works well but I think I'll look for the stuff with extra nick protection.
