Keeping the car clean gives just as good of a first impression, you agree? Back in HS kids would always HAVE to lower their car the week they got it, and do a ghetto tint/hyperblinkers/cheap altezza's just for the sole purpose of saying "my car ain't stock y0!".
With that said, I think a lowered car on the stock wheels can look pretty nice. Esp a 2000 teg. Ideally her modifications would follow SCCA SoloII class rules starting from stock -> STS -> etc., since that's the normal learning curve anyways.

ps. her stock tires are fine for learning purposes; I did 2-3 auto-x events and a track day on my stock XGT's @ 25,000 + miles. Sure I ran horrible times but I was basically learning how to drive the car close to the limit at all times. I can't wait to see how I do with my new RE730's.
