here is my routine that i have been doing since i shaved my head the 1st time....in may of 1990

i rinse my face (head) for about 30 seconds w/ the water as hot as i can stand it. this opens up your pores.

i use edge shaving gel w/ the red top...the one that says extra protection from nics & cuts.

i use the schick extreme triple blade disposable. i have tried pretty mutch every refillable or disposable on the market & these work the best IMO. i get about 3-4 days out of one before it gets tossed..

i make 1 pass going w/ the grain. rinsing the blade out freguently....once again w/ the hottest water possible. then i make another pass going against the grian, but this time i wet one hand, & move it over my face (head) pulling the skin tight & following my hand w/ the blade.

pulling the skin tight when doing this is important for 2 reasons.....it keeps you from cutting yourself & it also causes what hair is still there to stand up. then when the blade comes over it makes for a much closer shave & keeps the ends of the hairs from curling down. when they curly down & grow, they grow back into the skin & this is what causes shaving "bumbs" h:

after i am all done, i rinse my face (head) once again w/ very hot water, towel it off & splash rubbing alcohol. yes, before you ask it stings like a fucking bitch but what that sting is the alcohol trating the minor cuts caused from the shaving, so it treats them & takes away almost all of the reddness & "burn" from the shave.

the drawback is that it REALLY dries out your skin, which is why i take a nice hot shower after & then use a very good lotion to remoisturize my skin immediately after.

i only do the 2-pass shave when i am going out on the weekends or on a date. doing the 1-pass shave, i will notice stubble about 4-5 hrs later, but the 2-pass method is still pretty smooth 10-12 hrs later & i am constantly getting compliments from girls about how smooth my head is (who for some reason love rubbing on it...not that i'm complaining)
