Anybody know a good way to find an oil leak on the topside?(head and everything that goes on it)

It's on the passenger side. New distributor w/ new seals/ring.

I'm thinking about using that stuff everyone talks about that u put in your oil and run the engine and use a blacklight to see where the oil is leaking, but is that stuff damaging to your engine at all?
