thats true. it wouldn't make sense to have HD-DVD and DVD games either. It's like trying to sell 2 different markets with one console.

for everyone saying "I'm going to get one", this system will be $599.99 ... same as a PS3.

Would you get an Xbox360 for:
Halo 3
Gears of War

or a PS3 for:
Final Fantasy 13
Gran Turismo HD
Grand Theft Auto
Metal Gear Solid

by MS raising their price, they just eliminated a huge competitive advantage.

I really think the only reason they're doing this is to gain back the next gen DVD market from Sony. I don't believe the 360 will have the console library to compete when the 360 Elite hits the shelves.

I am always a big Playstation fan, having owned both PS1 and PS2, but I couldn't justify the price of the PS3 at the moment. Im sure I'll pick one up sometime in the future.

I did however pick up the 360 core with most of the add ons for a good price. I've been pretty happy with the games so far (Call of Duty, Gears of War, R6: Vegas...). I was never a xbox fan, but this system has changed my thoughts on it. Hopefully they'll be able to continue bring good games out even when the PS3 is taking off.
