yea they do that, but if its marked at say 2.99 and the other three are 10.99 it doesnt matter, you have to sell it at that 2.99, at least here in MI. ive been burned like that before, ive had product change price and before i could reset the pricing on the bottles someone bought one and burned me, for example right after a sale.
The managers here are dicks then... IF an employee can't find another product at the same price, they won't sell them, besides target clearance tags are easily noticable
