Hello all,

I have a 02 Accord EX and I just recently changed all 4 brakes for the first time.

I used the Autozone brake pads and the brake grease (which says synthetic on the package) for the shims on the front (I have no shims on the back).

Here is my problem. After installing, the front brakes have a "rubbing" sound when I slowly release the breaks. Also, all four of the breaks squeal about 80% of the time. When its really quite outside and I roll the windows down and brake, I can literally hear the brakes pressing up against the rotors while driving at 5 mph.

I took my car up to the Honda dealership for the free brake inspection and lied, and said some Honda/Acura shop changed my brakes. After they inspected it, they said that the workmanship was fine but I needed Honda pads.

I guess my question is, should I get honda pads? Should I keep my autozone pads and maybe get rid of the synthetic grease? I don’t know what to do. Please let me know if you can help. Sorry this is so long.
