It got to the point where "release groups" would encode an "autoboot" sector onto their downloadable game images. You'd burn the game image using Pradus' DiscJuggler (cd-r program), put in the Dreamcast, and play.

no mod chips, no wires, no mess, no nothing.

Hands down, Dreamcast = my favorite system of all time.
