Low oil, oil pressure, or even Dirty oil can cause Vtec to malfunction.

I know what your saying, checking the dipstick & get an oil change quick! If you don't want to do it yourself, pay somebody the whopping 25 bucks and get it done. If your still having problems afterwards, get a Chiltons or Haynes and troubleshoot.
