It will not be constantly raced, and must pass California smog. This car is purely a daily driven performance street machine and nothing else.

So far I have researched 4 machine shops/builders in the S.D. and Orange County areas:
- B Series - Scott Iveson / San Marcos, CA.
- Group 5 motorsports - Kevin Anderson / San Diego, CA.
- Laskey Racing / Anaheim, CA.
- Ed Hale Machine / Lakeside, CA.

Out of the above, the labor for the full machining, boring and honing, balancing, ACL or OEM bearings, and assembly will run $700-$800. Does anyone out there have any positive or negative feedback about these shops?

Does anyone have recommendations for other builders in S.D. or Orange County?

whats the rest of your set-up, only because if your just doing the block to those specs, you not going to get 300 crank hp. i'm also building that same motor (jdm Type R pistons .25 overbore, CR 11.8:1 to 12.01:1). are you also rebuilding the head, FI, nos, ecu programming, etc. etc. etc. i'm not saying it can't be done, but if it's NA, its going to be tough!!!
