About a month ago I experienced some pretty extreme (for the area; Northwest WA State) cold weather with temperatures well below freezing. My '98 GSR weathered it very well and I got a huge kick out of driving past any number of AWDs and SUVs spun out in the ditch. However, I made the mistake of opening my rear hatch when it was about 5F outside which destroyed my hydraulic lift supports! After I got done cursing myself out I went online to see if I could find some available at a price that wasn't ridiculously absurd. Turns out I can't find them at ALL! Seems to me like a pretty commonplace type item to need to be replaced. Let me tell you, that hatch (w/ spoiler) is one HEAVY mother when you're trying to unload groceries and it keeps falling on your head. Anyone have suggestions for where to look besides going to the dealership and shelling $150 a pop (if they even have them)?
