I bought a thread chaser to remove the old o2 threads that were inside the o2 sensor hole in the manifold, but I can’t even get it started in the hole to clear the threads. Should I go through the job of removing the manifold to make the job sight more accessible?
Or is there a quick fix I just don’t know about.
Thanks, and it is getting cold out to work on the car, (no garage) oh, and do you think a garage mechanic would do it for me without laughing too much at me for the great job I have done.
You can drill and retap the manifold...You can buy a new manifold for dirt cheap (this would be my advice) or you can grind the threads out of the manifold and grind the threads off the o2 sensor and basically JB weld the sensor into the manifold...I know, ghetto but it works. I've worked without a garage before and i'm all about quick fixes
