This is true. As far as I know, any legitimate swap will pass as long as the engine is of the same year or newer, the engine is going into the same chassis type as the donor it came out of (i.e. no CRV motor because it is from a light truck), and all the emission equipment is in place and CA CARB compliant.

Assuming you do the swap correctly and have all the same sensors hooked up that were hooked up pre-swap, you shouldn't have any problem getting that engine BAR'ed.
