hydroplanning has to do with curb weight to an extent.... but it has mostly to do with all your shitty tires :db:
I ran summer-only ultra high performance tires year round which combined with the super stiff suspension made for a dangerous ride, but the integ and civic are paperweights and slip and slide in any standing water.
The expedition had big tires with lots of tread blocks (tall and deep) effectively cutting through the water.
