The infocus SP4805, albiet a very nice projector, is ED. (Enhanced definition) @ 854 x 480 resolution. Yes, it will take a 1080i signal IN but it will OUTPUT it at 480p, the aforementioned 854x480. In other words, downsample it to its native resolution.

The projector that I am suggestion on the otherhand, is native HD @ 1280x720.

It will take a 1080p/60, 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p signal and output it at 1280x720.

That is 921,600 pixels compared to 409,920 pixels of the infocus.

I'm sure you have seen a progressive scan DVD player play at 480p and then have seen a channel like ABC-HD and watched LOST. The difference is striking.

To me, getting the optima is a no brainer. Like Kavikgold said, head over to AVSForums, and take a look in their under 3K projector section. It is definitely the one that everyone is talking about.
