lets take hard workers compared to the japanese work force. my conception is that japanese generally have better work ethic due to jobs that are lifetime jobs, employer provided housing, etc, and a better sense of integrity
so i think they value their jobs more and that is taught early on
what i understand of americans is that most go home and think about work when they are not taking work home for paid or unpaid OT. i personally forget about all deadlines and projects the second i step in my car to go home
I can see what you mean but at the same time 18 hours a day on the job is no different really than 10 hours on clock and 8 hours at home thinking about work. It is the same amount of stress just in a new location.
