Atleast now you can check it yourself. If your over 80k i would say just buy the EGR valve and put it in yourself. Its really easy that your referring to is on the pressure line that goes to the rack. If you follow the line off the pump ( the one that is bolted to it not clamped) it runs down the back of the motor and there is a sensor with a gray 2 pin connector. Were the wires go into the connector is where it breaks. However when that happens you get a surge at a stop. Basically the tach hunts up and down. But your experiancing it at highway speeds and that is typical of an EGR valve. The range is from 40-60 mph when it acts up.
