I'm new here, but I have a question about the Odyssey.

I have an '03, and when I'm travelling at about 45mph the engine gently surges. The tach needle bounces approximately 200 rpm every 2 or 3 seconds.

The engine will do this when in park but not consistently. The dealer said it was the alternator full-fielding as directed by the engine control computer. He also said "as long as the check engine light doesn't come on we can't help you". This sounds like some advice to the mechanically challenged, not to someone who notices subtle changes in their vehicle and wants to correct them before they turn into a $2500 dollar repair.

Any ideas will be apprectiated!!
