you may want to clean out whats there and sealant primer those area to help reduce the chance of rust forming. I do that to my crx every 4-5 years since i have fixed all the troublesome spots. my friend epoxied his lol it was very messy AND he ended up losing one of his shirts HAHAHA (to this day you can still see the shirt stuck, and he cut the areas that wasn't stuck)
