No worries.

You don't necessarily need tuning, but any application can benefit from it. At the bare minimum, a VAFC where you can adjust vtec engagement is sufficient. If you have larger plans down the road, the VAFC's lack of ignition timing control and precise fuel control makes it only suitable for mild build-ups.

Tuning shouldn't decrease gas mileage. In some cases, it will increase it from where it was in an untuned state. With your mods, you shouldn't see any difference in fuel mileage compared to a stock engine assuming you have it properly tuned and don't drive like a maniac.
