The hardest part can be the crank nut removal. If you can get that off, the rest is pretty easy.

I got a crank holder from Sir Tools, 2 minutes and the nut was off.

Other things you should do:
water pump
belts
valve cover gasket

if ambitious:
valve adjustment
t-stat
plugs

of course you'll need some ccolant
