tell your friend to stay away from the turbo setup. he can spend the 1500-2000 dollars on an intake, header, exhaust, cams, valvetrain, and some headwork and gain 20whp and 5 ft lbs of torque with his current LS without swapping to the JDM engine. that will be more reliable than going turbo. IF your friend decides to spend 1500-2000 bucks on his turbo, despite my advice, he CAN gain at least 80whp and 80 ft lbs of torque if its tuned correctly, depending on the boost he throws at it. But ask anyone here, they all blew their motors after they went turbo.
But like I said, I'd rather have the 20whp and 5ft lbs over the 80/80 because its NA.
