I wanted to share this experience with the folks who responded to my posting. I opened up a case at American Honda to look into the paint damage on my vehicle. i did send them pictures of the damage. After much deliberation, they agreed to pay me $700 toward the damage and allowed me to get it repiared at the body shop of my choice. Since I am selling the vehicle, this worked perfectly well for me as I can get a better price for it now.
