i have 17s on my car, but i dont do it between the spokes, my hands cant fit, i just reach in between the wheel and fender,there is plenty of room. i have a 5th gen though, it may be different then yours. and as for the hieght adjustment, i just count the lines on the collar. it seems the get me pretty close to perfect.
