Default 97 Ex Problem

OK in all 17 years of my driving I've never done this... I was driving down the freeway when I saw another accord come up next to me and revved up. so I downshifted into 3rd and went with him. when I went into 4th my coffee mug knocked my elbow as I was shifting and made go into second. To make the matter worse I let go of the clutch... I quickly corrected the problem but it seems the damage was done. The tach went to 8k and when I got home I noticed a bad knocking sound in the range of 1700 and 3000 rpms right under the valve cover. Is it my cam bearings or a rod? Can anyone help me? This is my DD and I need to fix it if its simple then I want to do it myself. Any help would be great. Thanks
