Did you ever drive through a trailer park and count the number of Corvettes, and other higher priced cars....you'd be surprised. You are looking at a house payment of less than 1000 a month usually with the lot rent included, and that's for a double wide with about 2000 square feet. Another advantage, at least here in Michigan you don't pay property tax either, which in my community would amount to another 1200 dollars a year savings for a double wide that cost about 65K. And yes you can get even more expensive ones, like the one we looked at that has everything for about 95K, (1760 taxes you don't have to pay) but it doesn't appreciate like a house, and depending on the size of the park you have neighbors almost on top of you. That's one reason we don't buy.
