If you get real metal, it looks good. Unfortunately, almost all the kits out there are faux metal, or flexmetal as the companies call it. It's basically painted plastic with clear epoxy over it. Barely looks like aluminum.

Wow, I was thinking of getting the brushed aluminum dash trim kit, but maybe not after these replies. Do any of you guys have good closeup pics of it in your car so i can really see what you mean? I saw a VW bug (2003) i believe with a brushed aluminum (from the factory, mind you) that looked just wicked, i was hoping it would look similar. I guess not! ??
