I have the rough idea of just hooking this light kit straight to dome light, so whenever the door is unlocked, it will turn on, and shuts off when the door is locked.
what kind of car do you have? i know on my 98 accord there's a fuse box on the right side panel.....theres a few wire connectors and on one of them control the auto dimming/ on feature of the lights on the car....wire it to those and it should dim off when doors are closed as well
