Default Burnt Valve, burning oil?

Hey, I'm looking at buying this Accord, here's the link

You gotta love sellers like this guy. He's almost a little too honest. Anyways, after the test drive, which went perfect, he informed me that he had a burnt valve replaced that he belives was due to low oil in the engine. He thinks the car is buring oil because he observed that it was about a quart low at his oil change. The car doesn't blow blue smoke and the oil in the engine is very clean, it was changed 1000 miles ago and it looks better than the oil in my 93 Accord after 1000 miles. Question is, do you think I should be wary of his claims about the valve and oil burning or is it probably ok since the valve was replaced and the oil is clean? This guy is the farthest thing from a mechanic I've seen. It's almost cute
