I got a problem with my tach jumping around, and I've been told it's probably because the stock coil cannot hold up to the abuse of the turbo motor (See my thread in this forum). (Anyone else have a prob like this?)
My question is about external ignition coils.
Do you have to buy an entire kit or what? I see ext coils for sale along with ALL kinds of other ignition stuff that I don't need.
Can someone tell me what is the cheapest/best option for replacing my stock (inside the distributor) ignition coil. Someone suggested an accel, stock fit inside distributor high-performance coil from autozone, but they no longer carry the item, so is there any other high-performance options like this??
Would I just need to get an external coil and a dist. cap that has an external coil plug or do I need one of those expensive ignition boxes.
I have uberdata so I don't need all of those features, I just want to use an external coil to boost my voltage going to the plugs, to fix my misfiring ubder boost.
