not true it was known fact in the early 90s that honda had crappy paint on their accords and civics. i was told to hand wash and wax. its a factory paint defect and honda along with other manufacturers knew this. my accord has been in my family since it was new. washed and waxed regularly. never neglected and the clear coat failed. it was more obvious on darker colors esp that dk blue color in of the 90 to 93 accords. my cousin had such a dk blue accord ex and it was garage kept and the clear coat failed early on.
