of course the rev limit isnt going to be exactly where the redline is, they know well ppl are idiots and rev it right up to the redline, which can be off +/- a few 100 rpms, and between the inaccuracies and their reflexes, they may rev higher. I remember when we got my car my father not even knowing what a redline was revving the motor from a standstil, the needle going way past 6800 redline of an h23, way into the red before we heard that unhealthy sound of the motor crying at the fuel cutoff.
