Oh geez. Another thread from all of you automatic prelude haters. I have a 99 Auto Lude with Sport Shift. I don't know about that revving up 1000 rpms between gears. I know that mine and others I talk to with auto ludes have noticed that the car will tend to stay in second gear at around 25 mph until you either give it a little more gas or take your foot off the pedal. Then it will shift to third. It's a little annoying on 25 mph streets, but not a big deal, just have to do like 28 mph instead so the car will shift. From the couple other people I've talked to with auto ludes, this all happens to them too. And all this talk about the Sport shift Tranny being a piece of junk is bullshit. I hear all this talk about how they have had problems because it was Honda's first attempt at making a Sport Shift tranny, but I personally think it is just rumors because I can't find anyone with a auto lude that has had trans problems. Everybody I talk to say that they are running strong. If you are buying the car from a dealership, or even if from a private party, tell them you want your own mechanic to look at the car. Let a mechanic drive it and tell you what they think. And it is a good idea to change the trans. fluid about every 15k miles. I suggest trying to get service records. My car came with a freakin phone-book sized packet of paperwork for the service records done at the honda dealership. Meticulously maintained...
