yeah no good news here. aftermarket ones are pretty universal so the fit isn't very good and they won't mount on the steering wheel. Im currently installing OEM cruise on my 93 civic and it is pretty damn expensive, complicated and hard. Unless you got a killer deal and you really need cruise I wouldn't try it.

I did notice
this article where someone put cruise on a Honda Insight. It's a Rostra brand (and according to their website, they "pioneered the development of cruise control technology"), and one of the controls they offer mounts to the bottom of the steering wheel and does look fairly OEM. The guy in that article used that switch.
Here's another pic of it on a Tacoma.
Looking up Civic on their website, they only show fitting the DX for some reason, which seems to be because they don't make a throttle plate for it, and which doesn't make sense to me. There was a guy
here that was trying to put it on his HX, but stopped replying.
If enough people showed interest in their kit for an HX and emailed Rostra, they would probably fabricate an HX throttle adapter.
