I would remain friends but I know it would be strange to get used to. I obviously would not date them anymore since I would never forget that they were born a male and I believe that your born as what you were intended to be. I also believe that if it was a good childhood friend they would at least have had to remeber they had a childhood friend with my exact name and at least tell me the deal before trying to date me.
