my battery went bad, it was a newer honda geniune battery too. It would make the same sounds you were describing while I was tryin to start it. So I tried to jump it and sure enough it started up. My battery was still under warranty and I went to my local dealership, Hidy Honda. They said it was the battery and I got a brand new one under warranty. Mines a 97 with 10100.

like someone else said earlier, try jumping it and see if that works. then you know it would be the battery. Good luck
