Bob-
Radial is pretty much what all cars ride on. There are some slicks made for racing that are still bias ply construction rather than radial.

Z is a speed rating. Average car from factory gets like H (130mph)
Z rated tires are rated over 150mph. (Like I'm ever going to go that fast )
