iridium privdes a colder spark you really only need them when boostin even though schmoo isnt using them, i use denso iridums but i think they perform the same as the oem ngk r's but more expensive so just use the ngk r's
That little piece of iridium on the tip has been known to melt off, go into the combustion chamber and distroy cylinder walls.
NGK copper is my plug of choice because it has a more consistent spark, stronger spark, and they are cheaper than iridium plugs. Yes, they have to be changed every 6k miles, but you can't get better performance.
