Reno...what did you pick up the kona for? And if your friend is looking at the hardrocks now, which one? V-Brake or Disc? The componentry on the rockhopper is a step up on the derailers and fork, but no disc.
i'm not sure which exactly he's looking at.
i got mine -- '05 cinder cone -- for $725. retail i think was $850. the '06 model they went cheaper on some components, i think retail is now at about $700.
