That doesn't surprise me. I've read a lot of research showing that SSRI's work just as well as the placebo. Cute. When Prozac was being approved by the FDA, Eli Lily's "research" had to be redone to show that Prozac was more effective than the placebo (an older antidepressant in the same study
was actually shown to be more effective).
So what did Eli Lily do? They reused the older antidepressant control group and put them on Prozac. Sadly this happens very often. I've come across it a lot. You can find research regarding VIOXX and blood clotting wayyyyyyyyy back 10 years ago. I don't really blame doctors, because if they don't prescribe something then the patient may think "Oh, he is incompetant and doesn't see anything wrong," so maybe essentially giving somebody a pill that is ineffective may not be a terrible thing.
