The Republican Party used to be the party of personal liberty and small government. They used to follow a doctrine of states rights. They used to act like all of the bill of rights was important -- not just the second amendment.

But now they think a woman's right to choose is superceded by religious beliefs. And that you can never spend enough on the government (as long as you're spending it on the DOD and not the NEA). Now they think that the pursuit of happiness is a right belonging only to heterosexuals. They used to think that a balanced federal budget mattered, but those days are long gone.

I'm exaggerating, but not by much, to make a point. Incidentally, lots of Democrats follow these same principles, and it angers me.

Nevertheless, no administration in history has been worse for the American people than this one. I hope GWB and Darth Cheney get thrown in jail along with Donald "I'm Cool With Torture" Rumsfeld and Alberto "Anything Goes In War" Gonzales.
Haha! I love it...I guess this is the answere I was looking (hoping for). Well said. I wouldn't say you exaggerated at all.

...not sure why I threw in the FDR - in fact, the Times just had an editorial on how some liberals are disregarding the liberal voice of the past 30 years and turning to classic visions of the then democratic party. I for one applaud this.
