There is no standard OBD2 plug on pre-96 Civics. You can short the SCS connector behind the passenger's kick panel with the proper jumper or a peice of wire. Once shorted, the check engine light will blink the error code.

There is a non-standard diagnostic plug in the car, but you will need an adapter and a $200+ scanner to use it.
