sounds like a common symptom of the throw out bearing. If you do it, get a kit(clutch, TO bearing, pilot bearing, pressure plate) and do the whole thing. Don't forget to have your flywheel resurfaced. Exedy seems to be popular for a stock replacement and kits can be had for under 100.
