Lower gears such as L/1 and 2 were put there for towing and other low gear situations such as getting stuck in the snow or mud.....if the car just had D R P N and you tried towing something in just D and not a low gear...your clutches would be shot in no time....Drive it like an auto...or get a manual i learned how to drive a 5 spd on my own..and im still on the original clutch.
