For cam belts, there is a time limit and a mileage limit. How do I know? I have two sports cars that use belts, and I have read about too many of them breaking or shearing off teeth with low mileage and lengthy service (time). If your pistons hit the valves due to the belt not doing it function, you will be out a lot more money.
