I guess if you get your rocks off on computers for their own sake rather than the stuff you actually accomplish with them, um, ok, then this could be potentially interesting or something.
I do the same damn shit on both mac and windows boxes, it don't matter which OS it is. So for people like me, what the hell does it matter if I'm "covering major OSes?"
For the average computer user, basically nothing.
But, to someone like me, it means that I can run my preferred OS and hardware, and if need be, switch to WinXP to use some random program that there's no mac equivilent. In my daily work, I can get more work done quicker on a Mac, but I'm forced to use a PC because of certain key applications. With this, I could minimize desk space and minimize time trying to work on two systems at once.
Though, I'm more likely at this point to buy a beater truck/SUV before I buy a MacTel laptop, but the fact I can use this to minimize the amount of hardware I need to use makes this development very interesting.
