The only way to beat that monster is to mow them down with power pitching. I can only think of one team that has the firepower to do that, the White Sox. I don't see any other team staying competitive with the Yankees for 4 straight games.
It really all depends on their pitching. If Johnson and Mussina have sup-par seasons their staff could be in trouble and out slugging the Yankees is a possibility. The AL East is wide open right now, I even question if the Wild Card comes from there. I do not think the Blue Jays will be competative this year even with their acquisitions. It will again be the Sox/Yanks going to the end and if both team remain healthy and can make the necessary augmentations at the trading deadline they both can win 95+ games this year.

But if either has troubles it could be a long season.

BTW anyone see a Manny anywhere???
