Anyone who says that you HAVE to run low compression to have a turbo setup that makes a lot of hp is full of shit and doesn’t know what they are talking about. If you are the best tuner in the world then you could take a 18:1 cr engine put a turbo on it and crank out 1000hp w/o blowing it up and do it at 15psi (im being facetious). But I really have seen a prelude h22a with 12:1 put down 590whp at 17psi. The good thing about high compression turbo is you can put down ALOT MORE power with ALOT LESS boost. The downside is that if its not tuned JUST RIGHT it will VERY easily blow up. Im not too sure about a t60, sounds like it would be too big. Im planning on a t3/t4 but I know someone who pulled off their t3/t4, only changed the manifold and swapped to a SC61 turbo and put down something like +30whp at the same boost. It’s all in how much you want to spend. Low compression turbo is much safer. High compression is much more delicate almost like a bomb ready to explode at any second.
