The TSX feels dramatically more nimble then the Accord, and no you simply can't make the Accord feel like a TSX in the corners with bolt-on gear. Not unless you plan to swap out the steering box as well, the TSX is a very nice piece.
My '00 weighs a lot less then the '03-'06 Accord V6, and even with all my aftermarket mods the steering feel of the wife's TSX is spot on better. It's a huge pleasure to drive.
We test drove the 7th gen Accord and the TSX back to back brand new in late '04 the TSX was smaller chassis and it's size had great appeal.
Add in the fact that the Acura had a better warranty package then Honda and it was the clear winner for about the same price as an Accord V6.
As for fit and finish, you really can't tell the Accord apart from the TSX. I guess if I really wanted the V6 and a manual I'd likely save a bundle and hunt down an '03 CL-S 6-speed w/ ATTS. Else I'd be more tempted by the Mazda 6-wagon for something with 4-doors, a V6 and a stick, and a huge ability to haul goods.
